This is a hands-on training where you will learn the Matrix point of view and have opportunities to practice both individually and in small groups

Learn how to quickly set the context for productive learning.
Learn how to meet students where they are to promote intrinsic motivation.
Practice the ACT Matrix process while giving and getting feedback.
Learn how the ACT Matrix is aligned with the core competencies of social-emotional learning and mental health.
Learn the foundations of the ACT Matrix process known as "The Workability Model" that shift you from controller to influencer.
How to build psychological flexibility with perspective-taking for students to increase self-monitoring, self-regulation, and prosocial behavior.
How to use the ACT Matrix to establish psychological safety with groups for collaboration, decision-making, and team functioning.
How to make friends with resistance and increase your own psychological flexibility.
Day 2 Agenda (September 22, 9 AM-12 PM, EST)
Review of the Process and More Practice!
How to use the ACT Matrix to assess your current conditions and address the core processes of social-emotional learning.
How to "defuse" sticky situations and challenging conversations with Matrix-style verbal aikido
Setting your conditions for self-directed behavior change coaching (we are all coaches).
Using the Matrix as a unifying intervention to promote prosocial classroom environments, school climate, and a culture of caring and shared responsibility.
(The New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association will issue registrants 6 Professional Development hours for attendance. Phil Tenaglia is an Approved Provider for ACT 48 Continuing Education Credits in Pennsylvania and will award 6 credits following completion of the training).
Included with this training is the availability of email support during the school year as well as opportunities for follow-up training based on interest and need.
